Baby Onesie Trim & Applique

Posted on July 28, 2017 at 4:57pm 2 Comments

Check out my final trimmed and sewn ‘Onesie’ for granddaughter Kenzie’s Aug. 7 birthday!  It’s been ‘in process’ for some time since we live 7 hours away.  Of course you’ll get to see it ‘all together’ on the beautiful model, but we’ll both just have to wait.

Today, I finished the Onesie – and I must say, I think it’s pretty darned cute – but it will be even cuter on our baby!…

OK – Transforming a T into this cascading vest tickled my brain!   Cruising on Pinterest for upcycle fashion ideas for my upcoming Kids Fashion Sewing Camp, I came upon the photo seen at the left in the image above.  Since I lost a night’s sleep on this, let me explain…

How to do Knit Hems

How to Stitch Knit Hem

Today, I’m sharing my techniques for hemming a knit garment.  There are many ways to ‘skin the cat’, in this case the ‘cat’ being a knit hem.  What I CAN tell you is that the ‘way’ instructed in most patterns will NOT work!  Simply turning up a knit hem and stitching WILL yield a wobbly mess.  Give this technique a try and I think you might just LOVE it!

That means put a knit fusible interfacing the…

Will try it! Do I need to adjust my tension a certain way? I seem to be having excessive bobbin issues if the foot doesn't meet the feeders

Londa, you seem to know a bunch about sewing, and I need expert advice! I'm trying to see a comforter and the problem comes in when attaching the thick braided cording. I can't get it close enough to just show the cord on the right side. I have pictures of it on my page. Can you help me??

Have just watched the You Tube video you did on trying Texture Magic as I have been researching it to do an article on it in the Bags Channel.  I went and looked on your website to see if there were any examples of you using it for collars etc but just found the product itself.  I am posting the article this Friday and would love to add pictures if you have any.
