Retro dress pattern?
I would like to make this dress. I figure that doing it from scratch would involve trial and error and I would be likely to ditch it if it did not turn out right the first time!!! - I have worked in the sewing sector but now I am employed in the Social Service sector. I enjoy making things. Lots of times, I buy fabric and don't get time to make anything out of it! I seem to get busy and then when I sew again, I wonder why it took so long to get back to it!
- What type of sewing do you enjoy?
- garment, home decor, upholstery
- What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
- I have an industrial Pfaff straight stitch and a domestic White serger. I broke my domestic sewing machine and I'm trying to decide what to buy this time around. I'm wondering about getting into stretch fabrics (bathing suits), embroidery and quilting.
- What brands of patterns have you tried?
- I don't have a brand preference. When I find a pattern that I use a lot, I tranfer it to light weight view flex to preserve it.

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
