Retired in 2001 after 26 yrs with TN Dept Children's Services. Have been sewing since age of 7 and come from a long line of seamstresses. In college, I studied tailoring. Besides sewing, I love machine embroidery, needlework and photography plus collecting sewing books. In March, 2009 I started a sewing ministry within my church to do clothing repairs & alterations in exchange for a donation to the church. I also volunteer by teaching sewing to those who cannot afford to pay for lessons. I also have been helping the UMNC in their Refugee Economic Independence Program by working on donated machines to get them running. Even though, I have to use a wheelchair, I like to share my love of sewing with others. I am president of the Memphis Chapter of the American Sewing Guild.
My sewing interests are:
garment, home decor, cross stitch, embroidery
My sewing machine(s):
Babylock Ellisimo, Babylock Eclipse DX, Babylock X-scape, Pfaff 4874, & Pfaff 1371 plus White 935.
I am interested in patterns such as:
Vogue, Butterick, Simplicity, & McCall's plus Textile Studio Patterns, Silhouette patterns and patterns by LaFred. I hope to get into pattern drafting & create my own patterns.
