I am quite sure it is a solid fabric with some sort of method to add the butterfly in one corner. A dye or reverse method of dying.

Warna said… - Hello Mary: My daughter lives in Halifax but her mother-in-law is up in Musquodoboit Harbour. Whenever we come down east for a visit she always takes us to the Tin Roof (I think?) for lunch. Beautiful country down there.
