Mary Linda Malley replied to the discussion 'What are you sewing this weekend? Enter the give-away!' in the group Stitch & B****
"I am sewing Christmas tree skirts with my serger. Metallic thread is used for the seams which are sewn wrong side to wrong side and are part of the design. It's slow going, but they are turning out nice."

I am an awesome:
I've been sewing on and off for over 20 years. I am self taught and do not feel I do everything right. I like to get tips and tricks from more advanced seamstresses. I have recently added a "new to me" Bernina 1130 which I am still learning.
My sewing interests are:
garment, drapery, home decor
My sewing machine(s):
Kenmore 20 stitch from my mom, Kenmore 1941 (old, old, old!) and an 1130 Bernina.
I am interested in patterns such as:

Sorry, I don't have a picture. I have a complete room devoted to sewing, so I have plenty of room. I go for function, rather than looks. The paneling is a very smooth white on one side, like a dry-erase board. It is brown on the other (which has a smooth texture also), and is less than 1/8" wide. When cutting the 4x8, you might want to use masking tape on your cutting line.

This could be made any size, as long as it is supported by something, like a dresser or table, that is about the right height for cutting. It is very lightweight and according to the size you make, it could be taken off, and hidden between the dresser and the wall, or placed in a closet. Mine is so large, that it would be hard to do that.

Other alternatives could be a large blackboard or dry-erase board, placed over something of the correct height, as long as the framing around the board didn't get in your way while cutting.
