In Canada and the zippers measure from teeth to teeth. The little bit of fabric that tucks into seam does not count as an inch.

This is done with strips of sheeting crocheted together then crocheted like a doilie but bigger. They are fully washable because they are cotton sheets.

Nice..My grandmother used to make the same style rugs, using torn up scraps & old panty hose she had cut up into strips. Made some very nice rugs. She would tie all the ends on in knots and then roll into balls and crochet with knots and all.…

I live in North Carolina right now but I'm from Maine and will be returning when hubby retires in about 4 years. I have a lot of relatives scattered throughout Canada the first ones (my great grandmother & grandmother's family)…

I know that the braided ones do take a lot of preparation too but with the crocheted ones there is NO sewing and NO coming apart. Good talking with you. Where do you live? I am in Ont.

Retired but still sewing up a storm in my little town. I am one of the main seamstresses and continue to love meeting the needs of others. Mostly alteration, mending and lots of crafts such as knitting, crocheting, photography on display in my home.
What type of sewing do you enjoy?
garment, home decor
What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
I have 3 Janome's ..I embroidery
I reg. 5018 model machine and 1 Serger on one table. My space and time are limited
What brands of patterns have you tried?
The ones that are on sale mostly and I am willilng to wait for them. Dresses and skirts and tops catch my eye.
