the 54" fabric is considered a 'home dec' width - this might also be a heavier version of the fabric - but not always. equilter.com also carries several colors of the RK Radiance in the 43" width.

I must confess I am a gadget girl. I am always on the look out for new and exciting gadgets. Anything sewing related is a given but I have also have become obsessed with new apps for the iphone, computer accessories, & the up and coming new release of the ipad which will have a camera.

Boy a girl could get into big trouble with such obsessions.

So what have I found now that has caught my attention? Well it is the New Concept 360°…

Nai'Lahs dress

Posted on August 24, 2010 at 1:15am 20 Comments

This dress I made for my grand daughter. The pattern I used was a Project Runway Simplicity pattern #2989. The print fabric Asian Garden Posies is from JoAnn Fabrics.

I modified the pattern by not adding the sleeves. The dress is lined so there was no need to create a finish for the neckline or sleeves. The pattern was easy to follow, but I am not sure it is a pattern for beginners.

I have just…

Bridesmaid Dresses Colors of Gerber Daisies.

Posted on August 5, 2010 at 3:11am 5 Comments

I thought I would finally share my last adventure of making bridesmaid dress for a dear friends daughter's wedding.

First and foremost the pattern I used for these dresses is from Burda Style pattern #7539.

The fabric chosen for these dresses is Dupioni Silk. The pattern called for using lace for the bodice inset. The colors of the dresses made it difficult to use the basic lace that is offered commercially. Although I could have hand dyed the…

I have been steadily working on imputing all my patterns onto the Patternfile software I just purchased. It is so exciting! The only draw back is many of my patterns or Out of Print patterns so I have to add the info and upload pics of the pattern myself (which I will have to do later). But I least I will be well organized and no more duplicate pattern purchases. Hooray!!  Can't wait for the iphone app to launch!

Thanks to the creaters of this software.

Thank you for the advice Patricia.  I'm attempting the pajama pants today.  I'm not used to sewing clothing, so this will be quite the challenge for me.  I'll post pics if they are worthy!  :)
