I haven't been away, just moving! It's been hectic, but we're finally on our way to Oregon. Can't wait to set up and start sewing again!

Yes, I wonder if it's even possible (or even worth the worry)! BTW, I hope you and your family had a very happy Thanksgiving week. Ours was great: lots of family, fun and FOOD!

Peg I haven't tried the piping with the invisible zipper. I have to go and pick up a foot mine for the janome just doesn't get close enough and shows the zipper tape.

Jodie, This is cute, cute, cute! What a wonderful idea. Like Cora, my grandkids are getting almost past this stage, but this would be a terrific project for craft fairs and bazaars. Thanks for your contribution. Peg

As the years pass we all develop our own ways of working that, through sheer repetition, become a efficient successful means for producing a beautiful product. I've become so dependent on the mat and rotary cutter that I rarely use my scissors for cutting out patterns. However, a pair stays in my work apron for notching and clipping curves.

These three photos show how accuracy in cutting produces perfect flanges and the rear hidden zipper case. I've never been successful using scissors on the cut-out (although I'm sure it's possible!). I remain a faithful fan of the rotary cutting for home-decor sewing for its speed and accuracy.

I've so enjoyed watching the videos for making the boxed cushion. I've never done this but have made piping and used it around pillows. Marlene C---Alaska

Hi Debra, I just saw your question on the Home page - exactly where I think one would post a question. Is your zipper application on apparel? Let me know; I'll help in any way I can. Peg

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
