What I'm sewing today.....

Well, all of you folks that have replied are certainly energetic this morning!  I've got LOTS of UFOs waiting to be done, new baby gift projects running through my head, and a learn-to-quilt class I need to prepare for.  What am I doing?   NOTHING but sitting here on the computer.  Haha   Soon it will be time to shower, dress and go to lunch with a girlfriend.  So sewing will have to wait (again).

"It was not heirloom.  With all the time I had to put into it, I sure wish that is was.  It was s ome kind of polyester with embroidered daisies on it and lined with a plain white polyester.  Took me about a week off and on. "

My best sewing experience was

making my first Grandchild's baptism dress.  The fabric my daughter picked was very difficult to work with; however, it was truly a labor of love.  See photo

Hand Smocking

Smocking is an embroidery technique used to gather fabric so that it can stretch. Before elastic, smocking was commonly used in cuffs, bodices, and necklines in garments where buttons were undesirable.
