What type of sewing do you enjoy?
garment, home decor, quilting
What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
I have 2 Viking machines, one is a Daisy, the other is a Scandnavia200, 2 sergers,a White and a Juki, and my favorite is my blindstitch machine.
What brand of patterns do you prefer?
I love Vogue,But I use any pattern I can get. I interchange the pieces to get the effect that I want. I don't follow the rules when I use patterns, I change and interchange them so much until if anyone wanted to borrow them, they wouldn't look the same as the original.

Just What A Fabric-A-Holic Needs-- More Fabric

I have been collecting fabrics for as long as I can remember and one thing that some might say is "don't give her anymore fabric"
I belong to a quilting guild and we trade fabrics once in awhile. One of our members brought a stack of upholstery to one of our trades and no one wanted them. Of course I said "I will take them" you can't let good fabric like that go to waste, right.
I looked at the fabric for a couple of weeks and decided to make some tote bags with it. The next meeting I bo… Continue

My Sewing Room

It used to be my living room then I decided that we don't do much "living" in there so the room that was to be the extra bedroom became the living room and the living room became the sewing room. I like it because the lighting is better, the floor is tile, when my customers come in they don't have to walk through my house. I have more room so it is a lot more messy, but at least you know that I am a very busy person. I try to sew everyday, I live in my sewing room, I meditate and pray in my sewi… Continue

I was motivated by your comments and your excellent sewing projects. I'm just about to start my own sewing business and desperately need some info regarding pricing your work. Any suggestions for alterations and dressmaking ? Thanks...MaryAnne

hi there, i am new to the site. read about your scrap bag. when my mom makes quilts, she often uses the scraps to make pillow shams, throw pillows, or even smaller versions of a quilt for the couch, lap quilts, baby blankets. how about some cool purses? wall hangings? a fabric store i visit has quilting classes. on monday nites they have scrap nite for free. people get together and make scrap quilts. that would be another place to perhaps swap or exchange scrap pieces. just some ideas... pansyface

GOOD AFTERNOON!

I DO have an etsy site but haven't benefitted from the experience yet.
I have paid fees but have made no sales.
I am just learning about a lot of this.
I am so grateful to have this site to interact with other sewers and crafters.

I don't know HOW to give up!
I am streamlining my marketing efforts and also my projects.
Sewing isn't all I do and I am learning to channel my creative energies into those projects that are fun & profitable. I consider myself a "production seamstress/crafter". I LOVE creating from a customer's concept to actuality!
