Profile Information

I am an awesome:
Wife to 1, mother of 2, grandmother of 4. Been sewing and crafting all my life. Spent most of early marriage making garments for myself and family. Still do on occasion. But in 1999 I found my true love........quilt making. I have started to enjoy garment sewing once again, repurposing existing garments by using them in new ways.
My sewing interests are:

My sewing machine(s):
I own two Pfaff sewing machine and a Pfaff serger.
I am interested in patterns such as:
I usually like Butterick patterns the most.

Organizing Patterns

I have so many patterns! I use a metal filing cabinet and have my patterns lined up two rows per drawer. I have them in grouped by type: Children, Men, Home Dec, Women which I have most is also broken down by dress, jackets, blouses, pants, etc. It sure makes looking for something easier. I have been sewing for 40+ years and almost got rid of some of my older patterns because they were taking up so much space in my sewing room. Hello and welcome from Metairie, LA. We were evacuated not far from Ruston during Hurricane Katrina and again last year when threatened by Gustav. Since we just passed the anniversaries of both I am very hopeful that there will not be any this season. I just get tired of packing up and running, getting caught in traffic for hours at a time and trying to find a place to go far enough away where we are safe....
