Not very experienced. Took semester of home ec about 50 years ago with my mother doing most of the work. About 15 years ago I made some Christmas reindeer. About 10 years ago I decided I would like to make a quilt. Bought a couple of books, rotary cutter and mat, fabric and started making a queen quilt in a 9-patch block. Decided it needed sashing and added that. Actually turned out okay. Then I started making baby quilts for my son's long-time friends when they started their families. They have been more applique- rather than piecing-intensive. Now I'm designing my own and drawing the applique pieces. My goal: A quilt with a center medallion of a 30-inch 64-point mariner's compass.
My sewing interests are:
home decor, quilting
My sewing machine(s):
Nothing fancy! I have my mother's 40-50 year old Bernina 831. Still works perfectly! A friend also gave me her mothers serger. It's somewhere in the basement. I've never even tried using it.
I am interested in patterns such as:
