"As an 'old' machine dealer - it really is true that a straight stitch plate WILL even give you straighter actual stitches, as there is no room for the stitch to 'kick off' to one side of the other.  AND, there is no big hole…"

"I agree with Lynn about using a 'leader' as being the best solution.  When I use the straight stitch plate, I break many needles, as I tend to forget I have it on and try to zig-zag stuff....arrggghhh!"

My machine eats the corners of small pieces.

I have fairly old 7500 memorycraft which Iove except for one small thing. I do patchwork and when I sew small patches the machine tends to suck the little corners down into the throat plate. I have heard that you can but a straight stitch plate but they are quite exspensive, has anyone used one and are they worth the cost?
