A trip to 4th. st. in Philadelphia

It was a treat for me to go to Philadelphia last week and visit my sister. We went to several fabric shops on 4th. st which is the Fabric District of Philadelphia. It was like being a kid in a candy store. I was looking for trims for my purses and found several bags of remnants in one store at a fraction of the price in a local tore. I'm phyched and can't wait to get home and start using them. I'll include photos soon.

Thank you,

Hi Jane,
Wow I'm envious of a whole district devoted to fabric!
Yeah i'm none too happy with Etsy. I think for some folks it probably works really well, but I'm not very good @ promoting myself all over the place. I also design and construct drumline uniforms and flags for colorguards when I get the jobs, so I sometimes just don't have the time!
I did join a local business networking group (TNI), that might be a good idea for you. B careful tho, some charge $$$$ for dues and membership, but it's at least worth a visit. Some even offer a free lunch or dinner
Good to meet U!

Hello Jane and welcome. I also like to dabble but most of my projects involve some type of needlework. I am preparing to teach Basic Beginner Sewing to children at a mini-camp this summer. It will combine 2 of my favorite things - working with children and sewing.
