I don't remember whether I actually posted my question to you, so I am doing so now. What pattern did you use for this? I would love to knit one for myself! :) It is so cute!
i experimented by stretching the elastic thread and not stretching it. I am using Brother sewing machine and it seems like a lot of ppl using this brand have a problem with shirring.
thank you for this tutorial. I didn't get the elastic effect. What have I done wrong. I have put the elastic in the bobbin...set the longest stitch and did the backstitch. Help.
I'm originally from Singapore (aaaah missssing home!!!)but have been living in the UK for nearly 20 yrs. Always love crazy sewing ideas. Have started to sell my own goods over xmas market and hope.....if i have more guts...to go around to shops to stock up my goods. soon will upload some pictures of my work.
What type of sewing do you enjoy?

What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
brother (cannot remember at the top of my head now)

What brands of patterns have you tried?

I know exactly what you mean about people not wanting to pay.. That's one good thing about Etsy...most people appreciate the work. I figure that if it's made by an artist, it's original and it's been invested in. You certainly wont find it on store shelves! You can't expect to pay peanuts like you said, for something that took hours of investment.
Your art is beautiful and I hope you get to pursue it one day. Who knows things in this economy might get soo poor that people will seek you out just for your ability to sew!
You have a lot of patience or great ambition to do a cover with small squares! Its beautiful so that makes it worth it I'm sure...
I do sell some of my things and others I give away as a drop-off, Toy Society style. Under some of my photos I have links to my sites where I sell my things. I used to use Etsy. It started off great with lots of sales, but they're flooded with sellers now.
Unfortunately, unless you're well known there, your product gets buried to page ten in about a half hour or less and no one is the wiser! That got too expensive (especially when no one even saw my items because they were buried) and since I sew for fun, it really wasn't worth the time & hassle for me
Do you sell?.
Yes thanks for the thoughts... Yes my BI happened in 1999 and I had to learn to walk and talk and read and write and eat again my memory was about 4 secs long and they called me miracle girl.I have made unbelievable progress over the past 10 yrs and a very thankful to be alive!! :-) Moving on to happier thoughts...
