We're thinking about getting some chickens in the spring to cut down on the horrible mosquito problem we have! We live right across from a marshy creek and a little further down is the river. It's so bad that if you open the door, you let about 5 mosquitoes in & you have to make a run for the car. I've read that chickens help. That alone would be worth scooping out a coop....then there's the eggs!
