- Hi Ann...There are no clubs in my area where I am now. Is the workbook you speak of, the one that comes with the machine? I know I should just sit down and try to master this machine but between looking after my sick husband and home/yard etc. and still sew everything i want to, there doesnt seem to be enough time. Its the embroidery part of the machine that scares me!..Nancy

My machine was a 10000 and upgraded to 1001. I just love my machine and it meets more than I could ask of it. I joined the local Janome club and we spent last year just getting to know our machines. We didn't look at the embroidery side of the machine as I think most of us were comfortable with that and besides the club is for all Janome machines.
If you don't have anything like that in your local area, there is a workbook for the 1001 and I believe it's pretty good.

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.
