That's sucha practical idea! Actually I had my brother in law over last weekend and he is promising to build me an extra wide, low shelving system to help store them. I will try to remember to post some pics when it is finished in case it helps…

Fabricgirl gave me a tip for storing fabric rolls... "Get a refirgerator box, sturdy, cut it down and put them in there. they stay put. easy cheap."

How to store rolls of fabric??
Hi, I am loving Sew What's New I think it's a fantastic initiative!!I am struggling at the moment to work out how best to store some rolls of fabric I have acquired. There are lots of resources available on how to store folded quilted cottons but I have some dressmaking fabrics on rolls that I need to work out how best to store. They should be laid flat so I am looking for some kind of wardrobe / shelving system that is wide enough (150cm). Does anyone have any tips / ideas on how they look…See More

- What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
- I have a basic Janome sewing machine my mum gave me a few years ago and I love it!
- What brands of patterns have you tried?
- My personal favourite is Kwik-Sew. The paper they use is very durable, their instructions are excellent and they have super customer service. They don't have the range of designs that some of the other companies stock, but tend to be quite carefully chosen.
