With regard stitching bias tape around the seam in one pass, if you use a bias binding foot it's a breeze. Teh tape feeds into the foot, folds and wraps around the seam and is then stitched in place. These are specialist feet, usually available…

- I am the editor of Sewing World magazine, published in the UK as well as author of many sewing books and DVDS, on sewing of course! I also co-run www.isew.co.uk which is a resource site for people that sew. I am passionate about sharing my sewing hobby and particularly like to encourage newbies!

- garment, home decor
- What type(s) of sewing machine(s) do you have?
- I am lucky to have 2 embroidery/sewing machines, 2 smaller sewing machines, an embellisher and an overlocker.
- What brands of patterns have you tried?
- I have machines from various brands so can't give a preference. They all have strong points but I would say that!
