Viking Designer SE Sewing Machine Repair Costs!

I own a Viking Designer SE.  The computer went blank and I actually smelled smoke.  I got 2 quotes of $800 to replace 2 computer 'boards' + labor.

Thank you for any input.

I miss my machine !
