A new clothing store opened in Manhattan earlier this year, and its decor features little more than antique sewing machines. It's gorgeous! The store is All Saints Co. Ltd., a clothing company based in London. It's not clear why they chose sewing machines as the main decor motif, but... they sure are beautiful! Take a look:

Do you have a pattern for a doggy diaper or belly band? I would really like to make some for my boys and one for my girlfriends female, but I can not find a pattern anywhere. I would love to see it here.

MY MOM ALWAYS HAD A CROCHET HOOK IN HER HAND ALSO. THANKFULLY, I HAVE A HOUSEFUL OF LOVINGLY PREPARED GIFTS SHE LEFT BEHIND. I ALSO LOVE TO MAKE GIFTS FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS BUT SINCE I DON'T DO CROCHET I QUILT. WHILE MAKING EACH QUILT I REALLY DO THINK OF THE LOVE THE RECEPIENT WILL FEEL AND THE JOY THEY'LL HAVE USING THE QUILT. IT'S SORT OF ROUGH WHEN I FIND OUT THE QUILTS HAVE BEEN RELEGATED TO THE BACK OF THE LINEN CLOSET OR ON THE DAY BED FOR THE DOG TO USE. BUT I STILL GO ON AND TRY TO… Continue

As I sit here on the couch watching college football, digesting turkey and talking to y'all.......I reflect!
I hit the floor running at 6:30 am. I could have slept in today because of the holiday, but no.........I got my usual wake up call from the kitchen with my 14 year old rummaging around the pantry looking for breakfast. Suprising, I wasn't even upset about this unstoppable hunt for food. I was excited about what was on my own… Continue

Here is the apron I just finished, along with some Fall napkins I whipped up.
The blue accent fabric on the apron is called Falling Coffee Beans, I think. It is just small coffee beans sprinkled on the blue background. The pattern is the Vintage Style Apron from Sew4Home.com. It is unique because of the way the ties attach to the apron… Continue

It's time to take a trip down memory lane........come on now, bear with me. It may be a little sad, but it's worth it.
First off, this is a dedication to my loving mom and what she taught me. I wish I had only known sooner the impact she and her crafting adventures had on me and expressed that to her. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance because she went to be with our Lord last November. She is missed!
Now, let's travel. I remember my mom was huge into… Continue

Dishtowel makeovers. When I saw these tutorials that
Maya @ Sew Chic & Unique
shared, I wanted to share them with you too. My dishtowels are looking kinda... well, they are really blah! I am sew going to do this today! What was I thinking when I picked up those *white* kitchen towels at the kitchen accessory store anyway...
well, I did get a smoking deal.
I'll spruce them up with … Continue

Why is it so hard to stop in the middle of a project?
Maybe it's the fear of not finishing it. Maybe it's the anticipation of seeing it complete. Or, maybe it's because we just love to sew that much!
I prefer to think it's because I love to sew that much. However, I'm plagued by this 'finish line' phenomenon with other activities too.....cleaning, painting, organizing, cooking, etc.
Is it really a bad thing? I mean, lots of tasks… Continue

Candace at Sparkle Power posted this easy removable pillow cover tutorial. These covers make washing a breeze. I agree with Candace, it's nice to simply be able to slip the cover off and replace it with another when you're ready for a new look. If you have kids, grandkids, pets, the ability to wash the covers is appealing. You could even make them out of holiday fabric and change them with each of the holidays throughout the year.… Continue

Call me crazy.....okay, probably most people do.....but I just can't seem to pass up a 40% coupon at Joann's! IT IS, truely, crazy......because the discount only applies to non-sale items and most items in that store are on Sale. The items that aren't on sale are usually the ones that are way out of my budget anyway...........and yet........I can't help myself.
I'm beginning to wonder if I should start FBA (Fabric Buyers Anonymous). We could all meet at the discount fabric… Continue

I do a little of everything when I store my patterns. First I cut what pieces I need. Then I take a quart size ziplock. I just put all of it neatly in the ziploc. Including any extra instructions I may note for my self. Mark on front with a permanent marker.(size, who it is for etc.) I have shoe boxes that I organize them in and I had put up a shelf in a closet. Sounds like a lot to do but it sure does work. I can tell you where every piece of any thing is my craft room. I love it when it is… Continue
