Slown Down

I believe God slowed me down on my new pattern development by sending the flu. Or - really, that I got the flu and that's what I'm interpreting it to mean. Alsoi n the middle of moving my elderly mother from the nursing home where she landed a week ago to a really nice assisted living situation. Anyway - below if my last jacket design for the current pattern. Left to do: test my directions for this one by making another jacket. Then - write the directions for real, and do the taping....sure… Continue

BAck to Designing Today - Sewing IS Therapy!

I haven't uploaded photos from today's design session yet, but it sure was good to get 'back in the saddle' on this pattern. Since last Thursday morning, I've been at my Dad's side as we took my mom to the hospital, and now into a nursing home. CHOSEN jackets design progress report

Wheww - that's a big picture - dunno how to make smaller. This is my first jacket with a draped effect collar for this pattern, CHOSEN. The trim is what i call 'Doupioni Fur'. The process is to design - sew - take notes as I go - and photos of every step. Much doing, un-doing and re-doing. That's the fun part! Then...writing the directions… Continue

Pattern Design Process

OK - I'm ready - have exercised, organized, rested the weekend, most dishes are tended to - and though there are (plenty)weeds in my flower beds, the time has come to design/write/record, etc. for my new pattern: CHOSEN. I've done several jackets already, but I need to refine/add to - do more, etc. Ideas from snoop shopping on vacation added to the concept - so I can't wait to get started. The photo is really an organized mess - necessary to figure… Continue
