Bias Tape Tutorial

Don't be afraid of the big bad Bias! I used to be and then found a great way to make it easily. I want to share it with you.

Bias tape takes a good bit of fabric, but it's still less expensive than buying the pre-packaged kind. In my estimate and experience, you can make approximately 5-6 yards of bias tape form 1 yard of fabric.

Okay, let's begin.

Step #1

Lay your fabric on a flat surface. Open the fabric…

Sewing Areas

Upon browsing my inbox and Miss Creative's blog spot this afternoon, I got inspired. It got me to thinking....yeah, dangerous, we all know that by now! :)

Let's have a little FUN shall we!

Miss C is the luckiest seamstress I know. She's getting a brand new and improved sewing room (area)! How awesome is that!? That's when I thought......wouldn't it be interesting if we could glance into one anothers…

Productive days!

As I sit here on the couch watching college football, digesting turkey and talking to y'all.......I reflect!

I hit the floor running at 6:30 am. I could have slept in today because of the holiday, but no.........I got my usual wake up call from the kitchen with my 14 year old rummaging around the pantry looking for breakfast. Suprising, I wasn't even upset about this unstoppable hunt for food. I was excited about what was on my own…

Now, let's travel. I remember my mom was huge into…

The Finish Line

Why is it so hard to stop in the middle of a project?

Maybe it's the fear of not finishing it. Maybe it's the anticipation of seeing it complete. Or, maybe it's because we just love to sew that much!

I prefer to think it's because I love to sew that much. However, I'm plagued by this 'finish line' phenomenon with other activities, painting, organizing, cooking, etc.

Is it really a bad thing? I mean, lots of tasks…

More Fabric....................40%, is a good deal or not?

Call me crazy.....okay, probably most people do.....but I just can't seem to pass up a 40% coupon at Joann's! IT IS, truely, crazy......because the discount only applies to non-sale items and most items in that store are on Sale. The items that aren't on sale are usually the ones that are way out of my budget anyway...........and yet........I can't help myself.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should start FBA (Fabric Buyers Anonymous). We could all meet at the discount fabric…
