I never throw away denim blue jeans. I've made quilts and bags with the pieces. I cut them into 5" squares, and embroider on the squares. They last forever.
"Denim is a prime fabric for recycling, so don't throw away that outgrown pair of blue jeans"
Bleached Jeans
Use liquid gel dish-washing soap for an easy, safe way to customize your jeans. There is a little bleach in the soap which can be applied with sponges to get a bleached design. You need:* Plain Jeans* Liquid Dish-washing Soap in Gel Formula* Dimensional Fabric Paint * Sponges* Fabric Scrap
Instructions:rewash jeans and cut sponge into a heart shape (or make your own design). Dampen sponge. Pour dish-washing liquid onto a plate. Press sponge into dish-washing liquid and press onto fabric scrap. Practice until you get even coverage of gel onto fabric scrap. Stamp jeans on one side let sit up 1/2 hour. This takes less time if you want a less obvious design. Wash and dry jeans. Repeat with other side
Start out by writing the letters you will be using onto the white side of the contact paper. I wrote "I (heart) SUMMER" using letter about 2 1/2-inches tall. You can write what I wrote, a person's name, or anything else you want.
If you need help with your letters you can do what I did and use a word processing program to make the letters. I then printed them out and traced them onto the contact paper. You can also used letters like the ones features
Use the scissors to carefully cut out each letter. Add as many or few colors as you want. It is normal for the fabric paint to pool on top of letters as the Con-Tact paper is not absorbent.
Once you are done applying the paint to your towel, set it aside and let it dry. Once it is dry enough to touch, dab off any wet paint on the Con-Tact paper using a paper towel, and then pull off the letters to show your finished product.
Follow the washing and drying instructions that came with your Simply Spray.
