Take a deep breath… wow I’ve finally used a pattern from Anna Maria Horner’s book. I’ve only owned it for what, three years?!  In all honesty I failed miserably in my attempt to review this book back in ‘09.

I buckled down last week and wowed myself by completing two bags for some very dear ladies.  This was a simple pattern, which can be played up or down (all to your preference).

Anna’s directions are easy to follow, not too complicated. I love "not too complicated", most of the time I skim through the directions.  One of my worst habits, which has lead to hours of practice with the hem ripper! :)

What do you think of the fabric selections?

The first tote fabric was bought from hobby lobby in Iowa back in August.

I purchased this fabric at Joann’s in Eau Claire last week.

After being bitten by the sewing bug again, I’m off to the fabric store for new amazing material tomorrow. Hopefully I can find some great deals at this time of year. I'm hoping to complete three more of these before the weekend. I'm not sure how this blog post will look, it's my first on SWN. {Editor's note:  It looks fabulous Renata!}

Love the purses and the fabrics. I have your skimming problem, too, and am very familiar with my seam ripper.

Hi- I used picnik to edit the photo. It's like the editor said, free free free. If I have more time I play with photoshop, but for these pic, I used picnik. We are still celebrating Christmas here, but I'll have a little time to respond to the rest of the question. Happy New Year everyone, have a wonderful 2012 full of sewing :)

I know you can create "polaroid" looking photo enhancements with text as Renata did using http://www.picnik.com/ and it is free.

Renata - anxious to hear you answer to Susan Ferriola question about your name added to the photos.  My favorites are the middle two bags.

Yes, it does!   Thank you for taking the time to make these up and post.  Was it an easy to follow pattern/book?

These bags look awesome!  Are these meant only to be a tote or they can be a purse as well?  What are the dimensions of the bag?  Also, what other patterns are in the book?  I think the readers would like to know, I know I do.
