I am expecting a new niece or nephew on both sides of our family this spring. That's baby x 2! So this tutorial caught my eye. I am definitely going to try this, I love the idea of using the prefolded diapers as they are so nice and absorbent. Barb of "A Chelsea Morning" developed this tutorial and she did a really nice job of taking us through this project visually, step by step. If the majority of your friends and family are going through that "baby stage" you might want to have a bundle of these on hand at any given time. I think it's fair to say that the average new parent goes through about half a dozen of these each day. They are almost too cute to let your baby spit up on!
What you need:
One package of prefolded diapers.
Two to three rolls of color coordinating satin ribbon.
Thread to match.
One to one-and-one-half yards of printed flannel or cotton.
Some tulle or wide ribbon to bundle it up if you are giving it away.
I did an idea very similiar to this. Only with my embroidery machine. I would put designs on the one side, and used fabric to cover up the back side of the design. Whom ever I gave them too, just loved them all. I don't have any family members now having babies, but they sure did love them for their brand new babies. I enjoyed doing them too.
