Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

I might just give these a go myself this weekend to string atop our windows, and along the sills using some scraps I have stuffed in my sewing desk, pleading to be used. I may string them together with ribbon instead or fabric strips, or perhaps some jute twine depending on what type of fabric I decide to use. You could style these "primitive" with muslin or plaids, or create fancy stars using metallic fabrics, satin, sequined, beaded, or any fancy fabric if you like the stars to "shine". You can download the template and excellent instructions written by "maggie makes" by clicking here!

You could make these w/ red/white/blue fabric for the 4thof July and string them together w/ raffia and hang them. It would look great. The idea of making them for a kid's room is also great.

Living on Stargaze Avenue I need to make these to hang in our windows. They are beautiful, and the instructions are very easy to follow. Thank you!

Birdie is right. These stars would be cute any time of the year. I can see them sewn in different fabrics for the different seasons/holidays. 4th of July would be a great time of year for these, too! I might make these for next Christmas in gold fabric. So cute!
