Mother-daughter team turns creative idea into successful business venture - Michigan Morning Sun

"When a little girl puts on a tutu, she begins to dance.

Or, said Kaleena Lidke of Alma, they prance.

Lidke, 28, is the daughter in a mother/daughter team that makes tutus. They have an online business, The Two Tutu Ladies.


Three years ago, Lidke, an accountant, a wife, and the mother of a little boy, still thought she needed something a little more creative to do. She began making hair bows.

It quickly mushroomed into tutus as well.

While Lidke designs the products and selects the colors, her mother, Vicki Nash of Pittsford, does a lot of the grunt work.

"I do most of the sewing, she does the tied tutus," Lidke said, adding that her grandmother taught her to sew."  read on
