I thought this was a great idea. Simply sewing them together creates the perfect shape. Use the leftovers sewn together to make the essential front pocket. The ties are a nice weight, and always beautiful fabrics. What a great gift idea! I tried to find the source but I just kept being directed to photo directories. If you know anything about this project please post!

Very nice apron, but did u clean . Neck ties made of silk. Aren't they
This apron was available for sale on Etsy, as was this one, with a link to a blog (katdoesetsy.blogspot.com). Unfortunately there is no Etsy shop with a similar name and the blog spot is for 'invited readers only' so no other information at the moment!
There is this silk tie apron from Folksy, but that shop is empty ('Make it Sew' by Marie and Emily)
What a very clever project..really very neat..I really like.
This is fabulous! Something I'd like to try. Thanks for posting.
This is Awesome!
Looks like the shape would make a nice skirt too. More practical for me, as I wear an apron because I always get messy in the kitchen!
hmm... love this idea... did you "gut and clean" them first? (remove the innerds and wash) cut and trim?
My main concern would be that most ties are not washable and an apron must be washed regularly.
I made a cushion cover for the chesterfield with hubby's ties. it looks great after all the years since I made it.
