Has anyone repaired the slits made by the skiis on ski pant legs?  Sewing patches or using heat adhesive  doesn't seem like very likely solutions.  I did find a product called "Liquid Stitch".  Would this work with a layer of utility fabric on the wrong side of the outer fabric?  I would appreciate any suggestions.

Susan, I was researching Kevlar as I am sure it is not available in my area and found 12x12 in patches and rolls of Kevlar tape on different web sites.  The tape is way to expensive as it comes in 50 yd rolls, but I could handle the patches.  I also looked for ski pants and found many styles have a protective layer in the inner leg area that is prone to ski abrasion.  Can you explain how to apply the patches to the pants?

How is the Kevlar attached?  Does this liquid stitch hold up to the wear and tear of the area?  If it is sewn, should I apply sealant to the stitching area so it stays waterproof?  The pocket look is a great idea. Thank you.l

You can even get clever with patch pockets with flaps to cover problem areas.

If you can somehow add a layer of Kevlar, to any areas either prone to cuts, or having cuts. You have to do exactly the same work on each leg/side so that it appears deliberate and simply blends with the rest of the garment. I repair a lot of motorcycle and hockey gear this way.

I'm sorry, I don't have them with me-my customer mentioned it to me after I had returned the pants to her after re-sewing the crotch seam.  The slits seamed to be on the inside of the pantleg bottom opposite the zipper on the outside.  We were discussing how to access the area and she said the pant leg is separate from the lining to go over the ski boots.  She thought the slits were made from her skiis when she shifted from side to side.  Hope this is helpful.

Can you take a photo of the repair location?
