You can make these easily from fabric scraps, some filling, and velcro. The measurements should be correct for an average sized woman’s wrist, but you can measure your own wrist and make necessary adjustments. The pincushion in the center takes up 3″ of space, so be sure to account for that. If you make one of these, we’d love to see it! Add your photo to the Sew & Tell photo gallery!

I think I am going to make one of these. It is great idea. I like the idea also of putting something between your wrist and the pins. Flexible plastic or thin cardboard. Thanks for the idea.

I'm going to try this - but I'm putting a piece of template plastic between my wrist and the pins - thanks for the pattern - very easy to follow.

would a magnetic strip work in these?

love this idea. I've done something similar but with a ring and because of the ring back the pins don't poke through :o) http://michellemadethis.blogspot.com/2009/04/ring-pin-cushion-tutor...

She mentioned cardboard... maybe the thin yet durable cardboard that crackers come in?

After reading the tutorial, I'm wondering if I'd need something more than polyfil to keep the pins from poking through and spiking my wrist. Perhaps a piece of heavy plastic? I'm going to try making one this afternoon. Thanks for sharing!
