My first project of 2013 is complete, my goal is to be more active this year on SWN.
I felt it would be nice to lay the foundation down as to why I choose the dress and the name. Over the last 3 years I've been trying to increase my sewing knowledge/skills. I've also had a desire to join pattern review, but was never sure I would stitch enough or have the time to review much.

This year I decided to go for it and that is part of the reason for making this dress. I recently entered the one pattern many looks contest on pattern review and this is dress 1. As for the name - I'm a geek and love to label things. However this would be the perfect dress to wear in France and stop in one of those awesome pastry shops they have.
I'm in love with all things black and white and can't get away from the color. Dress 2 will end that cycle, here is my review of Simplicity 1755
Sewing the Design
The instructions were very good, simplicity are very user friendly. This pattern seems complicated but it's really easy and now I have one under my belt, dress two will be easy going. I did have to alter from a 5/8 seam to 3/8, must have gain some holiday pounds. Other than that it was fairly easy to put together and complete.
Dress 2 on the Way
I'm very happy to start my next project. I'll get a new post up in a day or two. This is the fabric I'll be working with.
Happy Sewing!

Comment by Renata on January 28, 2013 at 6:23pm Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I think I'm truly growing as a fashion sewer - finally I can see designs beyond the one on the packaging and visualize how it will look with different fabrics.
