I wanted to share this awesome dress I made for a fun Party. Things has been super crazy at my house, and happy to announce I made time to sew :) . This is Burda 138 - a vintage piece in the 11/2012 Magazine.

The fabric is from Hancock, it's an ottoman with glitzy silver splashes. I can't remember ever sewing with this fabric, but I love it. It has a little stretch and would make a great jeggings. Anyway back to the dress. The fabric was $14.99 and I used about 1 1/4 yards.

I normally have a hard time with burda's instructions but this was right on target. It was super clear to understand, vintage I've always looked at but was worried it would be too detailed and time consuming. The only thing I would add to this would be a lining. Top notch pattern, I'm a big fan and can't wait to make another one.

Happy Sewing!

What a beautiful dress! I looks absolutely perfect...it seems that with this particular fabric you didn't need a lining.

Perfect pattern for your figure, and I love the fabric!
