Hi Birdie, and thanks for being my first friend :-)
I've been reading this site for ... a year or better? But have only posted a couple of time. I LOVE sewing -- I am a professional DJ/MC and make all my outfits (w/matching hats, matching table skirts, you name it)...and now starting into lottttsa baby stuff due to grandkids ;-) Nice to meet you!!

The one's at Joann's and other stores, the dowel isn't long enough to store both the thread and the bobbin on top (I just LOVE this idea). I want hubby to make me one that will close up into a box so the thread doesn't get dusty....

Thanks for the tips, now if I could just quit buying fabric. It is like you have a need to stock up for winter as folks used to do with food:)

It's a pin cushion :) Yeah! This feature was just released last night... we can all send each other these little things... it's just for fun. They gave us all 3000+ credits to start.

Hi Birdie,
Thanks for the welcome. I have a few projects sitting in front of me now.
Just have to decide which one to start. Been spending a lot of time looking for some tote pattersn. But I will probably end up making my own.

Hi Birdie, yes I believe this is a ginko leaf. The fabric is from Konabay and while it looks fine in the picture it is even nicer in reality. The leaves are edged in gold and the shading is very well blended.

Well I can't say I blame you for keeping it in a "secret file" ..After all, neither did Colonel Saunders for his Kentucky Fried Chicken....LOL!
A sewing project is in order, once I get my head wrapped around my sewing machine....most likely an easy peasy one, like a tote bag. Have made yoga pants from a t shirt, go figure!
First, I must complete my 10 ft long knitted scarf, before the snow hits!!!
Will post projects once they come into "fruitation"....

After I sent my comment I thought the boxes are guinea pig beds. We haven't had g pigs since our kids were little. Many yrs ago.

Hi Birdie—no, I'm not a member of Plushie Creators, but I will definitely check it out! I haven't made any animals in a long time—not since the children were small—but I really enjoyed Archie, and I think I'll make some more. Just as soon as this cold gets a little better . . .

Hi Birdie
Welcome. I am new to the groups also.
I love making quilts, toys for babies (as we have an 18 mo granddaughter and 4 g-grandchildren), sewing things for Christmas and tote bags for grocery store. Last year I started making most things for Christmas, such as mixes in jars, cookies (always), mustard, soaps.
I love your monkeys and cloth boxes. Love the fabric choices and the denim is great. You have wonderful ideas.
