Hi Sadie! How are you doing? I've been busy with the kids this summer and a new puppy we've been training. These past few days we have been putting a new deck on the back of the house as the one that was there before was ready to fall off.... a lot of work but it had to be done. I've been sewing a little more lately too. I've been making doggie duvet beds and donating them to a dog rescue group.
I am good just really disorganized and don't seem to be getting anything done these days. Yes, I have been sewing here and there. I have made two more bags and two basic denim cushions for two small dogs to sleep on. I have unfortunately broken two needles, sadly. I am hoping that I can actually get myself organised, soon.
Actually my sewing has been on hold with this kitchen remodeling taking priority lately. I would love nothing more than to go hide in my sewing room for a few hours, but my husband knows where to find me! LOL I did manage to get a wedding gift item done and didn't take the time to get pictures of it. It was a red cuddle throw for the bride and groom with "Ashley & Justin, Two hearts, One Promise, May 15, 2010" embroidered on it. That only took an hour to make and now I am working on a layette for another friend. I was working on the Feliz dress and had to set that aside for the moment and hope to get to that sometime soon.
I saw your wonderful new work and just adore the fabric you used for your friends wife's gift. I have to find that fabric! It really starts my brain gears to moving when I see such great fabric. You did a great job on the zippers which can make even the most seasoned sewers squeamish. Nicely done!
I apologize I have not responded to your comments and such. I had Noah yesterday, and he is sick with Bronchitis, and possibly pink eye. When he is sick, he wants to be held and so that's what Granny did (I'm Granny!). I didn't even turn the computer on yesterday I don't think. Long long day. Very tiring.
I forgot to tell you that I do have a blog but I am not the best at keeping it up to date. You can see it at http://sew4my3.blogspot.com/. I need to start putting tutorials etc.. on there, but with all my other interest I find that it falls on the end of my list. Maybe sometime this year. hehe
Okay Sadie, I went nuts this morning and posted more of my creations! I had wanted to get pictures up in case my computer dies and I lose all of my photos.LOL (not funny, really) At least this way there will still be a record of them somewhere. They are a mix of past and present, costume, adult & children's clothing and crafts in general.
I wanted to ask if you work outside the home or are a student or a busy mom or other ? I noticed you are from India. I have a friend that is from Bangladesh and she just recently moved back there. Her family owns a company called "Yasmeen", which was named after her. I really miss her but look forward to her emails. Anyway, I got off topic and am just blabbing, sorry. Well, let me know what you're up to.
Thanks for all of your heart warming comments, and just the daily chat. It almost feels like you live next door! Thanks for the rose gift and the wonderful comment you sent along with it. I can't see you, or hear your voice, but can tell you have a caring and giving heart. I'm proud to call you my friend!!!
Hello Sadie! Thank you so much for all the kind words on my creations! Your one busy bee with all of your great creations! The bags are all so unique and I am guessing they are your own design? I look forward to seeing what you post next!
I just looked really good at your profile, and you don't give yourself enough credit. The pics you have posted look like you know what you are doing when you sew! You go girl! I'm the same way about the free patterns! I'll admit it..I'm just an old tight wad! But that's ok. I'm me, and what you see is what you get. Sounds like you and I would get along really well!
(comment reply from the Project Hope post) Yes I designed her (Hope), but I didn't know they were famous : ) Maybe you're thinking of some other doll? I checked around online before naming her and only found one doll dedicated to cancer victims and it was a girl...I forget her name now, but it was a typical, vinyl doll. There are other regular dolls whose funds go to research but nothing like my Hope that I've seen. Everything I've seen is machine made in typical doll fashion.
I'd love for Project Hope Dolls to become popular because it would mean that more money is dedicated to cancer research & more patients would have something to cuddle that also has no hair...something to relate with : )
I have a woman who purchased the pattern and she's awesome. She's on here & her name's JoAnn. She's already got 14 made & about half given away. I need to post her photo on the Project Hope Society blog soon. Have a fantastic day Sadie!
