the little ribbon would be used for holding a pen and to keep the checkbook closed.

I don't get the ribbon? 2 inches? What does that do? Thanks

Some great ideas here. And now I will just have to go out and get her book for more good ideas. Maybe then I will get more use out of my serger.

Love this!  I need to get my serger out and dust it off.  These would make wonderful gifts!  Thank you!

Note to Karen's comment -- when you're ready for a new serger, definitely check out Babylock brand. Wonderful machines and easy to learn and use.

I have this book and love the projects in it. I haven't made the checkbook cover yet but definitely will now !!

I have Georgie's book which is excellent but it is good to see her in action ('Ready Set Serge' by Georgie Melot).  This is where I first heard of wrapped corners!.  My only disappointment was my machine doesn't have a cording foot and being out of production now I can't get one unless I buy a new overlocker/serger.  Nevertheless I managed to make the cosmetic bag with the help of my sewing machine.  I will try the glasses case but with added applique.   I liked those machine embroidered owls so I will do my own version of them.  Will post pictures when I can.
