How to Fix / Repair the Hook Timing on a Sewing Machine

This video demonstrates how to fix / adjust / repair the timing of the hook on a sewing machine. If the thread from your needle isn't getting caught by the hook that rotates around, this video explains what to adjust to fix that. Requires some very basic tools and takes 15-30 minutes - maybe less.

My machine sews but there is a bunch of loops on the underneath of the fabric. Any fixes for that?

It didn't work for me.  Maybe I destroyed the machine in some other way.

Awesome advice, thanks so very much for taking the time to make the video - and to think a shop was going to charge $90 for what he did, amazing. Can't thank you enough for the knowledge!

This is a great tutorial.  Keeping your bobbin area lint free is important also.

I've had problems with this before on a machine I no longer have, so this is great to know for future reference!  Both Thumbs Up!  He did such a good job of explaining and showing how to fix this.  Could be the beginning of a How To Fix This  video career.  ;))

He is not only smart but good-looking!

My sons are not mechanically inclined but my daughter is (go figure!) so I will be showing her this for future reference.

This has inspired me to do some research on line and try to adjust and/or repair one of my machines.  It never occured to me that I might find repair hints for sewing machines on line.  Cudos to your husband, he did a great job.  My husband, bless his heart, just isn't mechanically inclined.  So, having been an only child and having hung out with my Dad in the garage and my Mom in the kitchen and Grandma when she was sewing.  I gained a little mechanical knowledge and a lot of sewing, it looks like it is up to me.  Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
