In a word, Mary Ellen Edwards, greed.  That's why I actively seek out and only post to Pinterest free downloadable patterns.  https://www.pinterest.com/649jlar/

I hate it when downloadable patterns are so expensive. This one is $15.00. I have to print it out using my paper and ink. Then tape it together before I can begin to use it. Why aren't download patterns more sensibly priced?
