I would wash it if it is not home decor fabric.  Just in case you needed to wash it another time...  because it could shrink then and then not fit as well.  What type of fabric are you thinking about using?

I love it!  But I have just one question.  Does the fabric need washing before you make it, or do you just use it as is?
