How to Sew Amish Folded Star Quilted Hot Pads + Pot Holders

This is a great little project to use up bits and pieces in your stash! Learn how to create this gorgeous quilted Amish-style hot pad or pot holder if you prefer.

What you'll need:
-4 fabrics, 1/8th yard each
-fat quarter for backing and bias binding
-8" x 8" scrap fabric
-8" x 8" Insul Bright heat resistant batting
-sewing machine, needles, thread, scissors, ruler, etc.

Cutting list:

Color A (inside or small star): (5) 3" x 3" squares
Color B: (8) 3.5" x 3.5" squares
Color C: (8) 4" x 4" squares
Color D (outside and dominant star): (8) 4.5" x 4.5" squares
Binding (cut on the bias): 2" by 26"
Loop (cut on the bias): 1.5" by 4-5"

Hi Julie -  you might like this tutorial better then, it includes printable instructions  Fancy Folded Star Pot Holder or you could buy a pattern like this one on Etsy
