Make a Buttonhole with a Buttonhole Foot

In this video Kathleen Frances of http://grosgrainfabulous.blogspot.com shows us how to use the special button h*** foot, but for those of you who only have a regular foot she will also show you how to do it without one.

To use this video you must have a machine that has a buttonhole setting. Something like a long rectangle. She will show you some examples in the video. Here's a great buttonhole foot on Amazon.

LOL I forgot. Nice video thanks for posting. I may find it useful if I do get a new machine. Was informative

Ha ha my only problem is I have an ancient machine that doesn't have the little lever. I have to measure the size of the button on my cloth and then make the buttonhole with turning the dial selector on the machine to do the front back forward and other side, turning the lever with each step. Lucky you got a programmed one. I made about a dozen practice buttonholes before trying to make one on my jacket. Only trouble was even though I measured the distance between holes, I still had an uneven buttonhole placement. Hope to get a new machine soon but the old bear is still working after 38 years. Not sure if todays lightweight machines can handle my crafts.

Thanks Susan for showing how to do a buttonhole. I think I can master that now.
