Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

This video is an introduction to my online class "How to Make a Body Double." This class explores how to make a Body Double (aka Dress Form) from fitted slopers for an individual. The class explores how to create full body doubles, torso forms, pants forms, and scaled down body doubles sometimes referred to as Mini-Me forms.

This method of making a dress form is interesting. I've seen the duct tape and tee shirt method too. It seems to me that with this method you wouldn't have to stand for longer periods of time as you would with the duct tape type; also you wouldn't have to worry about the possibility of getting the tape too tight. I really like the Mini-Me form idea too. If anyone has tried either method, I would like to know what you thought of it.
