I love it, so that is how you make those, I have seen them , now I can make my own , thank you ,
Thanks - that's helpful information!
I used the smallest clothesline size, I cut the fabric staight across in about 1/4 inch width. I started my twisting by putting a bit of glue stick on about the first 1/2" of fabric, covering the tip, then twist the fabric covering about half of the previous twist, and glue that piece aroung and then glue the next piece to that to start again, when sewing i use a wide zig zag stitch so I can make sure I am hitting both the previous line and the new one going around. When you get the bottom as big as you want, you lift the bowl up (gradually)with your other hand as you stitch around, ending up with it almost standing up straight next to your needle area. I wanted to add an extra piece to the end because I did not like the look of the end , so I wrapped an extra bit , zig zaged it, wrapped it in a circle , pinned it in several places to not loose it's shape and glued it to the side of the bowl! (also glued the sides of the circle together). There are several videos on you tube and pininterest which I watched to get my ideas.
also I used my walking foot and a demin needle
From what I could see the fabric doesnt need to be on the bias, but I guess it could. They were joined only by fabric glue. I would think a very soft clothsline rope would be best so you dont have needle breaking when trying to sew. It was obviously a zig zag stich...very small. As you tip the product forward you get more of a bowl affect. If you lie it flat you come out with a hot pad affect. Ill wait to see the response to see if my assumptions are right...lol.
