You fold the runner, top and bottom fabric, and then sew across both layers, not just the top fabric...

Try working through the step with pins and you will see it does work out :)

If you only sew the sides together, and make the pointy ends in the 'dominant' fabric, doesn't that leave raw edges on the ends of the smaller piece?  I understand how to sew a pointed end, but the instructions are a bit vague.  My sister wants some table runners, so I shall be trying this out!

just a note....I didn't actually sew the point seam,my picture below, so yours will look much prettier :)

Have a nice day.

Hi Nikki & Malory,

Step 4: you take your runner and fold it in half, lenthwise,  I folded my top fabric facing each other...

Then simply sew across the top of the raw ed

ges, where you can see the pins in my picture. Then turn this seam in to the wrong side of

the runner, and it will make the point of the runner.

I ironed the point so it was even and tacked it the point down so it wouldn't spread  open.

I don"t have the runner I made with me, so I used this fabric, not the best fabric, but it is

what I had available to show the step :)  Hope it helps.

I am also really confused by step 4. So please someone explain. Thanks!

I don't understand step 4 - can someone please clarify for me? I apologize if this is too basic. Thanks!
