Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

I decided my 'every day bag' was getting a bit scruffy so I have made this new bag. I found the multi-colour peace fabric a couple of months ago and it was screaming at me to make a bag with it. The centre insert I hand stitched peace symbols with chain stitch and then hand quilted around them. At the sides of the centre inset I pleated some spotted fabric.

Love it, at first glance it looks like peace for animals, the peace signs in the middle looked like paw prints!

I really like this bag.  Do you have a pattern or did you make it up.  I would love to see the top of it.  My sister is having hip replacement surgery and needs a small bag to carry her things.  I wanted to make her a little bag as a little gift before her surgery.  Cute!
