Carol, I started to answer your question and may have accidently sent you half a reply. I'll try again. Re: the little purses , they are the invention of Georgia Melot from her book "Ready, Set, Serge". She appeared on PBS "Sewing With Nancy" and has a very unique way of putting pieces together. I did use a little spray starch on each section after sewing and while pressing but they go-together quite easily.

Ever nice. I like the cover with the three different patterns of material. Do you use stiffener through out the sewing of pieces..
