I've got my first two grandbabies coming within the year -- a girl in July and a to-be-determined in October. I have sewn all my life and quilted for the last 30 years. Now I'm sewing for babies! It's so much fun.
My sewing interests are:
garment, drapery, home decor, upholstery, quilting, cross stitch, embroidery
My sewing machine(s):
Janome MC 9000, Kenmore 158.14000 (college graduation gift) and 117.831(my vintage machine), BabyLock Companion 2400 (not really operable) and a Simplicity serger (nothing fancy but a real workhorse)
I am interested in patterns such as:
Simplicity and McCall's are about all that is available locally. Have only used other brands occasionally. I always combine and add my own touches anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
Well, our lives have been turned upside down this past week. Instead of Kayla (due on July 28th) we got Isaac (due Oct 17). When we got the call at 1:30 am on the 29th, it was son #3 instead of son #2. Isaac arrived a couple of hours later at a whopping 2 pounds, 14+ounces -- 13 inches long. He was whisked off by the NICU transfer team soon after birth. He is now about 1 1/2 hours away but is doing great -- getting stronger hourly. They are still saying it will be a couple of months before we… Continue
After years of waiting for grandchildren, I am finally getting two this year. The one coming in July is supposed to be a girl so I have started a pink,purple and white afghan -- about 1/3 finished. I have put together a cheater cloth alphabet quilt with yellow fleece backing. I still need to bind it. Her Mom is planning on a farm girl theme so I am taking the wallpaper border and making a quilt with the characters. I'll post a pix when I get it together, I think it will be real cute.
