Hi
I want to learn to use the cool second hand sewing machine I just bought!! I'm in my 50s and haven't touched a sewing machine since 8th grade really...
I'd like to start with say curtains...then to home decor, pillows etc...then perhaps upholstery :-)OK maybe clothes too.
(Now the catch is) I survived a traumatic brain injury so I could use the networking and help please!
A bit about me... I'm a lil Mother Nature, luv taking a lil photography, button lover and creative, love my Service Dog(German Shep) Cowboy and lil brother Humble. A lil eclectic, a lil quirky, proud TBI survivor and love humor!!
I work on BI sites helping family, friends and new survivors. I am a Presidential Prayer Team Member and Adopt our Troops prayer Team member. I also work on a Grass roots Political site.I also do volunteer work for children and animals.
Man, are there really only 24 hours in a day?!
Love the SWN site and all the folks it adds to my life!
I had originally thought the swap could be from everyone's fabric stash, but the I realized that not everyone would want to part with things from their stash!
Thanks, I can't claim the idea is original. My sister does swaps on a knitting site all the time. Anyways, should be lots of fun!
hey, thanks. my hair is actually shorter than on the photo now. i just put in a photo on which you can actually see my face, rather than some artsy photo.
i 'am working' on a skull quilt for my brother's birthday. that is, i have started stippling and since then, it has been lying on the ironing board. i'm not in a sewing phase at the moment. knitting is what my hands want. i shall upload a photo of the latest [and first] couch pillow post haste ;)
and i hope i won't forget your big day on wed :)
Actually, I left my son and husband at home and snatched up my two daughters from college for their spring break to give them a break from school. Girls trip only! We could run around without a stitch on if we wanted, I'm not that brave at this age of my life!LOL I think we will take the kayaks out in the morning, it's just such a pain dragging them to the water! The dolphins swim right along beside us when we take the kayaks out, pretty kewl! We walked the shoreline again today, looking for signs of civilization, no luck. The boat is supposed to come pick us up on Saturday and I think we will be ready for mainland life again! I have sand in my computer, the apple guys are going to love that when I get back! Going to bed early, really tired ! Talk to you again soon!
Hello Jeri!
Just an update. I am on an isolated island, accessible by boat only, in the Gulf of Mexico right now. I am using the AT&T go anywhere thing as there are no internet anythings here. This is my 4th day and I finally got sunburned yesterday on the tops of my feet! It is just so beautiful here, no cars, no planes, no people, just beautiful beach and some trails! The only thing that would make it more perfect is being able to have my sewing machine on the beach!LOL Anyway, I am enjoying the relaxation and really needed it! Talk to you soon!

I thought I'd just clarify a bit as I didn't want you to be worrying about me...
Lisa commented on my accident, which is something that happened 10 yrs ago . She had inquired if I was gonna show a picture of myself?? And on her page I explained why not for now...
I am OK,doing the best one can do with a brain injury!!
Hugs and maybe someday you can see what I look like :-)
