Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

Here is the apron I just finished, along with some Fall napkins I whipped up.

The blue accent fabric on the apron is called Falling Coffee Beans, I think. It is just small coffee beans sprinkled on the blue background. The pattern is the Vintage Style Apron from Sew4Home.com. It is unique because of the way the ties attach to the apron body. The tie ends are inserted through buttonholes on the apron and tied in a knot. The neck and side ties are both handled this way. The fabric is from the now-closing The Quilt Shoppe.

The napkins are not anything really special. I saw the fabric at the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo in Kansas City MO a couple of weeks ago and really liked it. I cut 18" squares and serged the edges. I made 6 napkins and will give 4 to The Chef.

Thanks Susan & Angee. Yes, the apron is mine. However, my daughter, The Chef, saw the apron this afternoon and was eyeing it pretty close. I think I'll be looking for some fabric to make her one.

Good job for getting these projects done! Wow, that apron is really beautiful. The fabrics are so good together.

Everything we do is special...... so these napkins are very special. They are so bright and cheery. Love em!

I love the fabric... are you keeping the apron for yourself?
