Sew, What's New?

Curating sewing and quilting talent, techniques, and tutorials, since 1997.

So I thought this Easter project was extremely cool. Kim from "retro-mama", mom to two rambunctious boys and late-night designer and seamstress, developed this tutorial. I think this is an awesome way to use up all those little tiny scraps we have!!!

what you need:

  • 10"w x 5"h quilting cotton, linen or other non-stretchy woven fabric in one or more prints
  • ThreadFiberfill, Nature-fill or other similar polyester or natural stuffing
  • Disappearing Ink Pen
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Hand sewing needle
  • The Pattern!

I made a whole Easter basket full last weekend and they are so pretty.  Kim's tutorial is fantastic and she offers some great tips as to how to stuff them so they keep their shape.  AND, this is such a fun and colorful way to use little bits and pieces.  Just watch out...once you make one, if you are like me, you'll make an entire dozen!   Thank you KIM!
